The Sigma Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta was founded June 12th, 1912 at The University of Iowa.

Alpha Xi Delta is the 5th oldest continuously open chapter at the University of Iowa.
Sigma Chapter is the 12th oldest Alpha Xi Delta chapter.
Alpha Xi Delta has called 114 E. Fairchild St. home since 1928.
Olive Torgeson Wagner (Sigma) served as Alpha Xi Delta's National President from 1939-1941.
Sigma Chapter has initiated nearly 2,000 sisters into the chapter.
The 100,000th sister initiated into the Alpha Xi Delta sisterhood was a member of Sigma Chapter.
Sigma Chapter marked its Centennial Anniversary in 2012.
